Jefferson Barracks Cemetery

On 10 April 2014, Cahokia's Comanche Battalion  made a visit to the Jefferson Barracks Cemetery.

There we took a tour of the cemetery and learned of its history, the soldiers buried there, the reasons for the fort's location, and how the dead are treated there. After the tour was finished our cadets were given time to pay respects to family memebers buried there.

At Jefferson Barracks the headstones are set in formation. Showing a man to the front, back, left, and right all representing a single unit, and that even in death your not alone.

The head stones are all placed exactly the same distance apart from each other and are all leveled equally from the ground. Excluding the larger headstones. (Wich are no longer aloud at the cemetary.)
